How can we help you?

Q) What visas, in addition to the E-2 visa, allow one to legally offer English teaching and corporate training in Korea? Is it possible to do so on a D-8 or, possibly, E-7 visa?

A) Beside the E-2, C-4, F-2, F-4 and F-5 visa holders are eligible for teaching English. For more details regarding immigration issues, please contact the Seoul Immigration Office directly at (02) 2650-6399.

Q) We have a new baby, one week old. I know that I need to get a passport and alien registration for her. I will check with my Canadian embassy for their passport requirements, but what information will I need to bring to immigration? Please let me know what documents are necessary for immigration to process her paperwork. Will we need to have the mother and baby at immigration?

A) You must apply for a family companion visa, F-3, for your newborn. Obtaining a passport no later than 30 days after the birth is the first step to take in applying for and getting a visa from the immigration office. A receipt of application for the passport can replace until the actual passport being issued. In addition, you should bring a copy of baby's parents' ID card (alien registration card: both sides), a birth certificate issued by your embassy, two color photos of your newborn and 50,000 won for the visa fee.

Q) If people from a country which don't get automatic visas such as Bangladesh and Iran want to participate in an exhibition in Korea, what kind of visa would be necessary and how might they get it?

A) Please refer to the below for obtaining a C-3 (short-term visa). For further information, please contact the Korean embassy in the country where you are from. Applications are required for short term travel visits, visiting relatives, all-kinds of conference, culture and art activities, training programs, religious ceremonies, collecting academic data, or other reasons similar to these (i.e. not business related). What you need is a passport, application for visa issuance, fee (single visa: $30, multiple visa: $50), two color portrait shots (size: 3.5 centimeters x 4.5centimeters with shots not older than six months), document requirements according to the status: attendance of various events · meetings, documents proving purpose of stay, documents proving · introducing the meeting, documents related with establishment of the institute opening the meeting (a copy of business certificate, a copy of corporation certificate, etc.) documents related with the invitee (ID card, a certificate of incumbency)
