The last leg of our tour around the Central Asia Street in Seoul was 'Mongol Nomadic,' a Mongolian restaurant with a unique interior decked out with items that give visitors a taste of the traditional Mongolian nomadic lifestyle.
This restaurant was not only a place where you can try authentic Mongolian dishes but also wear traditional Mongolian costumes and have your meal inside the ger, a Mongolian yert where nomads live and share food communally.
Meat is essential to the Mongolian diet with sheep and goats forming the basis for much Mongolian cuisine. We tried Mongolian barbecue called 'Khorkhog' which is a staple across the country, meat-filled dumplings, both fried and steamed, and Mongolian stir-fried beef noodles.
To sum up the whole food experience in one word: Heaven-sent.
