A masked armed robber stole a sack of cash at Nonghyup bank's branch in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, on Thursday, according to police. Police launched a manhunt in the region and are using security video footage to identify the robber. The amount of money stolen remains unknown.

According to police, the incident was reported at 11:55 a.m. There were three people, all employees -- one man and two women -- in the bank.

The robber, believed to be man, threatened them with a rifle and ordered them to load cash into a bag. He fled on a bicycle, according to witnesses.

"He is said to speak in a strange pronunciation," an investigator said, indicating the robber could be a foreigner.
