Women who cheat on their husbands are happily married but just bored in the bedroom, a new study claimed.

Most women who have extra-marital affairs have no desire to leave their partners, according to researchers led by Winchester University's Eric Anderson.

Anderson also happens to be an executive at Ashley Madison, the famous online dating service for cheaters. This allowed him access to more than 4,000 conversations 100 female users were having with men on the website.

Anderson, who presented the study at the annual American Sociological Association conference in San Francisco, said: "Being happy in marriage is far different than being happy in bed… The most surprising finding is that none of the 100 women were looking to leave their husbands."

Nearly 70 percent of the women said they sought an affair at Ashley Madison to spice up their sex lives.

Only 47 percent discussed the number of potential suitors they were searching for, but of those who did, all wanted to cheat with just one man, Anderson said.
