In Rome, Italy, a protest has been held on Sep. 5 against the wearing of masks, physical distancing and coronavirus vaccinations.

Some 1,500 demonstrators included supporters of the ultra-right political party Forza Nuova (FN), anti-vaccine activists and various covid-19 deniers.

They said the country had turned into a "health dictatorship" and called the government "criminals" for requiring people to wear masks and vaccinate.

Italy has recently seen its largest daily case increase since early May with more than 1,700 new cases on Friday.

Italy now has confirmed more than 278,000 coronavirus infections in the pandemic. Over 35,000 died.
