Jeongyeon, a member of K-pop girl group TWICE, is going on another hiatus due to health issues since when she took a pause last October.

The group's agency JYP Entertainment notified fans, Wednesday, through its official website, saying that the singer will take some time off from the group, indefinitely.

“Jeongyeon is currently experiencing symptoms of panic attack and psychological anxiety disorder,” the agency said in a statement.

The agency also revealed that the singer has been trying to take part in the group's activities while seeking treatment to recover.

“But as we value our artists' health the most, we have discussed the issue with medical professionals and came to the conclusion that it is best for the artist to fully take the time to focus on her recovery,” it said.

“The members, including the artist herself, have decided after a discussion that Jeongyeon will not be part of the group's future activities.”

Adding that it will be assisting the artist in every possible way for her to have sufficient time to rest, the agency said, “We ask for your understanding and your love and support for Jeongyeon's full recovery.”

This is the second time the singer had to halt activity due to her health. She withdrew from all promotional activities for the group's second full-length album “Eyes wide open,” released on Oct. 26.

The agency released a statement a few days before the album's release that month and said that she will not take part in the group's activities, including any scheduled events regarding the new album, for a while.

“Jeongyeon has been feeling extreme nervousness and anxiety towards the upcoming release,” it said at the time.

The singer returned to the stage after a three-month hiatus, performing at the 30th Seoul Music Awards in January.

She picked up her music career with the group's mini-album “Taste of Love,” which was released in June. She also took part in the promotional activities for its title song “Alcohol-Free,” before taking her second time out.

Jeongyeon debuted as the lead vocalist of TWICE in 2015 with the single “Like OOH-AHH.” The nine-membered group ― consists of Jeongyeon, Nayeon, Jihyo, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Momo, Sana, Mina, and Tzuyu ― shot to stardom soon after its debut as JYP's first girl group in five years since Miss A.

The group has released a string of hit songs every year since then, including “Cheer Up” (2016), “Likey” (2017), “Dance The Night Away” (2018), and "MORE & MORE" (2020).
