Lee Ha-nee confirms role in new SBS series

Actress Lee Ha-nee will be starring in the new SBS series “One The Woman” (direct translation), scheduled to air later in the year.

The actress's agency Saram Entertainment said, Thursday, that “Lee has been confirmed to have the lead role in the series.”

Lee will play a double role as corrupt prosecutor, Cho Yeon-joo, and wealthy heiress, Kang Mi-na, who marries into a “chaebol” family, the wealthy owners of a business conglomerate.

Yeon-joo gets into a car accident while pursuing a suspect that looks exactly like her, which leads her to lose her memory. She gets mistaken for Mi-na and wakes up to a different life. While trying to trace memories of her past life, she needs to settle into the wealthy life of a chaebol family.

The comedy is directed by Choi Young-hoon, whose work includes the TV series, “Band of Sisters,” “Good Casting” and “Second to Last Love” and is written by scriptwriter Kim Yoon.

Actor Lee Sang-woon will play Han Seung-wook, who is Mi-na's husband.

Lee first became known to the public as Miss Korea in 2006, and as a third runner-up in the 2007 Miss Universe contest. She debuted as an actress after landing a role in the musical “Polaroid” in 2008. She has starred in various TV series and films, including the popular TV series, “The Fiery Priest” and hit movie, “Extreme Job.”

She recently finished filming two projects, a comedy film, “Killing Romance” and a sci-fi film, “Alien” (working title).
