TOEFL test-takers in several Asian countries are now able to receive their paper score reports within a week or two, which is significantly shorter than the four to five weeks it used to take, according to ETS Korea.
ETS Korea, Korea branch office of ETS Global BV, a subsidiary of ETS, said ETS launched the Faster Delivery service in April.
Previously, TOEFL exam result cards were printed and sent to test-takers from the headquarters in the United States, and it took about four to five weeks to be delivered.
But the organizer selected Korea as an Asia hub for the service, and the results are now sent from Korea to six countries and territories in the region ― Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Bhutan, and Korea ― and the time of delivery has been drastically shortened.
The Faster Delivery service is currently available only for the six countries where Korea Post's airmail service is available ― delivery services to many countries have been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But ETS plans to gradually expand faster deliveries to more countries as soon as airmail services resume.
ETS Korea said Korea was selected as a hub for the service, because it has been a key market in terms of English proficiency tests with a large number of test-takers.
In addition to the speedier delivery, test-takers can also use premium Express Shipping Service, through which they can receive results even faster ― in three business days. The service is available as ETS sends results through an international express shipping service provider.
Those using the service can also receive tracking information through text messages.
The premium service is available not only for test-takers in the six countries mentioned above, but also in an additional 15 countries and territories ― Australia, Guam, Japan, Mongolia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Nepal, Singapore, India, Macau, New Zealand, Taiwan, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.
"We are glad to announce the latest improvement of the score report delivery for TOEFL test-takers. I am sure that the new service will meet the long-standing demand of test-takers. We will continue our efforts to provide a better experience for them," said Paul Lee, the country manager of ETS Korea.
