K-pop singer Jamie Park has rapped on the remix version of “Best Friend” (2021), a popular song by American rapper Saweetie.

Park's management company, Warner Music Korea, made the announcement Friday, saying J-pop rapper Chanmina also featured on the track.

“Jamie, who always ventures into new music without limiting herself to one genre, has joined forces with other talented musicians this time to come up with a high-quality song,” it said in a statement. “It will come out on April 2.”

The original version of “Best Friend,” featuring Doja Cat, is the single from Saweetie's upcoming debut studio album, “Pretty Bitch Music.” Upon its release in January, the girl power anthem grabbed the No. 11 spot on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and also peaked at No. 21 on the Hot 100 chart. One of the producers of the tune is the Grammy-winning Dr. Luke, who also produced Saweetie's “Tap In” (2020).

Jamie Park, whose Korean name is Park Ji-min, rose to stardom after winning the first season of SBS' audition program, “K-Pop Star” (2011-12). She joined JYP Entertainment after the show and debuted as a member of the female duo 15& with the album, “I Dream.” After going solo in 2015 with the single “Hopeless Love,” Park came out with songs encompassing a variety of genres including R&B in the track “Stay Beautiful” (2019). More recently, Park also showed off her rapping skills on Mnet's hip-hop competition program “Good Girl” (2020).

In recent years, a plethora of K-pop acts have teamed up with global pop icons and excited their fans. Last year, girl band BLACKPINK collaborated with American pop star Selena Gomez for its single “Ice Cream,” while Hwasa of MAMAMOO featured on English singer Dua Lipa's “Physical.”
