A group of Myanmarese people living in Korea has staged a rally near the Chinese Embassy in Seoul on Feb. 18, denouncing the Chinese government for supporting the recent military coup in Myanmar.
Dozens of pro-democracy protesters, mostly Myanmarese workers in Korea, have been massing outside both the Chinese embassy and Myanmar embassy in Korea since the military took power in a coup on Feb. 1. They denounced what they called Beijing's backing for Myanmar's military coup. They also demanded the release of civilian leaders including Aung San Suu Kyi and withdrawal of the military from politics.
