K-pop diva Chungha has tested positive for COVID-19, according to her agency, Monday. "Chungha had the coronavirus test after coming into contact with a person who had tested positive. The result came out this morning and she tested positive" the agency wrote on the singer's fan page.

The company added that Chungha is now in self-isolation abiding by quarantine guidelines, and her scheduled events have been canceled or suspended.

"All our artists and staff members, who crossed paths or came into contact with Chungha, have either taken the test or will take it soon," it said. "We will take follow-up actions after the results come out."

Chungha rose to stardom after appearing on the TV audition contest show "Produce 101" on Mnet in 2016 and joined the project girl group I.O.I, consisting of the top 11 singers in the contest. After the group's disbandment in 2017, she continued as a solo performer, releasing a string of hits.

She was planning to release "X" ― a pre-release from her first studio album "QUERENCIA" ― Dec. 10.
