A visual arts event commemorating the 70th year of the Philippines-Korea bilateral relationship was held on Mar. 3 at the Seoul Global Center.

The event, "Art for Heart: Card Design Making Contest," was held to honor veterans of the Korean War through the power of arts as the medium of communication. It also provided a creative experience for children of multicultural families.

Ambassador Raul Hernandez from the Embassy of the Philippines, Ambassador Adalgisa Ximenes from East Timor and Filipino organization leaders joined the event as judges.

Team Penguins from Turkey won the grand prize. Its card had the theme "To that road: we create friendship."

The competition was also open to foreigners and Koreans, giving them a chance to interact with families of different ethnic backgrounds in a competitive but friendly environment.

The event was participated by local groups with an affinity with Filipino communities, including Filipino EPS Workers Association, Filipino Photographers in South Korea, Association of Filipino Referees in Korea, Pro-Biskano, Pinoy Iskolars sa Korea, Filipino Korea Americas, Ilocanos in South Korea, International Youth Federation and Rotary Club Pocheon.

The event's prizes were donated by SRE Global Marketing, while all the organizations' leaders acted as judges in assessing the contestants.

The fair was supported by the ASEAN Youth Network in Korea, the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Seoul, the East Timor Embassy, the Seoul Global Center and Seoul's Filipino community Pinoy Seoul.
