The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) included the book “Korean Dream: A Vision for a Unified Korea,” written by Moon Hyun-jin, chairman of the Global Peace Foundation (GPF), on its reading list for this year.
Lieutenant General Robert P. Ashley, director of the DIA, nominated 94 publications in three categories: leadership and professional development, history and global analysis. Moon's book is one of those recommended in global analysis section.
“In Korean Dream, Moon presents an innovative way forward on the Korean Peninsula,” the recommendation reads. “He explains lucidly why Korean unification is the ultimate answer to security, economic and social problems created through 70 years of division.”
The book, originally published in 2014, was reprinted last year, with additions. The author has led GPF since 2009, an international non-profit group dedicated to promoting innovative ways for peace building under the guidance of the vision of “One Family under God.”
The DIA, headquartered in Washington, D.C., an external intelligence service of the U.S. federal government, is committed to informing defense policymakers about military and intelligence affairs.
