ING Life, a Dutch insurer in the country, said it is sponsoring LA Galaxy's tour to Korea, as a part of its ``ING Chances for Children,'' welfare program for underprivileged children. The insurer will invite 200 children from charity organizations to meet LA Galaxy players and watch a friendly game between the team and FC Seoul on March 1.
The insurer will also donate 10 million won for each goal scored to Hong Myung-bo's HMB Foundation. If the match results in a tie of 2:2, for example, total of 40 million won will be donated. LA Galaxy players' belongings and other football goods will be put up for auction, and all proceeds will be donated. The insurer said its donation into the fund will help children realize their sports dreams.
ING Life has been using football for its marketing and social contribution programs. The insurer supported AFC Asian cup in 2007, and is continuing to support AFC Champion League this year.
