
Fiction Grand Prize winner Nohé Yeon
The Korea Times is pleased to announce the winners of its 54th Modern Korean Literature Translation Awards.
This year, the Grand Prize in fiction, awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, goes to Nohé Yeon, also known as Noh Hye-yeon, for her translation of novelist Kim Ji-yeon’s “SAKUTEIKI.”
The Commendation Award winner in fiction is Sunnie Chae for her translation of Park Seon-woo’s “We in the Same Place.”
The Commendation Award winner in poetry is Levi Lee for his translation of poems by Hwang In-chan, including “A Bright Room.”
We extend our congratulations to all winners and participants for their dedication and hard work and look forward to receiving more entries next year as the global reach of Korean literature continues to grow and requires skilled translators.
