"Last year, we increased the portion of photographs, installed art and digital artwork to keep
balance in the genres. We also collected some works of artists who are leading the new paradigm,"
the museum said in a press release.
The exhibition will highlight the characteristics of each artwork.
Pieces that are not introduced for this exhibition will be showcased at the sequel exhibition
held at the Buk Seoul Museum of Art in Nowon-gu, Seoul, from March 10 through May 17.
The SEMA currently holds 3,989 pieces of artwork
Kim Kwang-seok tribute to be held
Noted singers will hold a tribute concert for late Kim Kwang-seok on March 7.
Kim is a popular Korean folk singer who passed away in 1996. The concert will be held at the Olympic Hall inside the Olympic Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The concert, which is funded by the Kim Kwang-seok commemoration service society, is the largest concert held for one artist in terms of size and period. The first concert was held in 2009.
Singers participating in this year's concert include Park Hak-gi, Han Dong-joon,
Yurisangja, and Dongmulwon.
Park Hak-gi, who was a close friend of Kim, will stage a digital duet performance with the late artist.
Instead of singers lining up Kim's music by the list, the concert will become a stage for both singers and the audience.
Ticket prices range from 55,000 to 110,000 won. For more information, call (02) 1544-7543 or visit showplus.co.kr.
