The Corea Image and Communication Institute (CICI) will host its fifth annual cultural forum from Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 in Seoul.
Leading foreign experts in culture and press communication from 16 of the G20 nations will gather at the forum, titled "Culture – Mirror and Trigger of Change," CICI said Monday.
"We hope this fifth Culture and Communication Forum (CCF) will be a chance for cultural leaders around the world to experience Korean culture through things to see, enjoy, eat and speak," said Choi Jung-wha, president of CICI and chief organizer of the CCF.
"We also hope the foreign participants will promote their cultures, so we can find cultural communication as the link that brings the world together," she said.

Other participants are German journalist Caroline Möhring; Song Seung-whan, actor and president of PMC Productions; Denis Simard, who heads the Quebec Winter Festival; Shi Yihong, a Peking Opera performer; Alexey Levykin, director of the State Historical Museum; Australian journalist David Salter; Justin Albert, director of the National Trust for Wales and the executive director on the board of the International National Trust Organization; Donna Williams, chief Audience Development Officer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Smita Prakash, programming director of Asian News International; Hasan M. Soedjono, president of Himpaunan Alumand; Luca Sanjust, artist and owner of the winery Petrolo; Jiro Yoshida, a guitarist from Japan; Humberto Duque, a visual artist from Mexico; and Serhan Ada, director of Santralistanbul Art, Culture and Museology Research Center at Istanbul Bilgi University.
On Aug. 31, the participants will visit Changdeok Palace in Seoul. On the second day, they will experience Korean calligraphy with calligrapher Kang Byung-in and visit the Hyundai Design Lab designed by Jean Nouvel. On the third day will be the main forum, where participants will tackle how culture can trigger change and communication. In the evening, the participants will gather with other opinion leaders in Korea to experience Korean food and Korean culture, including the nonverbal performance "Nanta" by PMC Productions. Korean dignitaries expected to attend are former Prime Minister Han Seung-soo; Kim Dong-ho, chairman of the Presidential Committee for Cultural Enrichment; and Won Yong-ki, director of the Korea Culture and Information Service. Ambassadors from 42 countries in Korea are also expected to take part.
The CCF was launched at the G20 Seoul Summit. Since then, it has established itself as the leading cultural and communication forum to promote Korea and Korean content overseas.
