Indulge in romance on Valentines Day

Soon the day for couples to exchange presents and express their love for each other at romantic places and events will be here ㅡ Valentine’s Day.

Warm candles, chocolate cakes, delicious food, along with pink and red decorations create the perfect mood at various hotels around the city, so all you have to do is to make reservation.

The Sheraton Grande Walkerhill offers a dinner promotion and room package. “Sweet Love” dinner at the hotel’s European restaurant and the bar at CLOCK16 will not only satisfy the palate but also present a gorgeous night view.

The nine-course menu includes Spanish jamon, fois gras, beluga caviar and truffles at 400,000 won. An eight-course dinner comprises of lobster, hanwoo tenderloin and foie gras, at 300,000 won. The prices are per couple.

A couple selecting the “Endless Love” package will have the chance to propose marriage to their loved one. A set menu, bottle of wine, chocolates, a bouquet of flowers, a Polaroid picture, plus jewelry and a jazz singer’s serenade are all included. The offer is priced at 1 million won. For couples opting to stay overnight at the hotel, the “Bubble Double Romance” package is available from Feb. 11 to March 14 at 202,000 won. The Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas and the InterContinental Seoul COEX present special Valentine menus. Table 34, the French restaurant at the Grand InterContinental, offers a five-course menu that features foie gras, Australian Wagyu beef, black truffle butter, heart-shaped macaroons and champagne. A majestic view entices visitors at Marco Polo, located on the 52nd floor of World Trade Center Korea, which presents a seven-course Mediterranean set menu and seven-course New Asian set menu, exclusively for Valentine’s Day.

The Mediterranean menu includes Norwegian salmon salad, pan-fried foie gras, hanwoo tenderloin and Canadian lobster thermidor.

The New Asian menu features shark’s fin, bird’s nest soup, fried king prawn with abalone and sauteed Australian beef tenderloin.

The Imperial Palace Hotel’s “Chocolate Package” features one night stay in a deluxe room, breakfast buffet at Cafe Amiga, a box of chocolates, a homemade cookie set and a bottle of wine at 260,000 won. For an additional 40,000 won, guests can upgrade to a club deluxe room and gain access to the Club Imperial Lounge where they can enjoy a breakfast buffet.

The “Je t’aime Package” includes a choice of either a Corner Suite or a Loft-style Suite, breakfast buffet, all-day snacks at the Club Imperial Lounge, and a seafood salad, cake and a bottle of wine in the room. It is priced at 360,000 won. For more information call 02-3440-8000.

For those seeking a romantic dinner, the hotel’s Italian restaurant Verona is offering the “Valentine’s Day Propose Package,” which includes lobster ravioli, sirloin steak, steamed jumbo shrimp, chocolate fondue, two bottles of red wine, cake and a bouquet of flowers in a private room decorated with rose petals and candles. It is priced at 350,000 won and is only available for two couples on a first-come-first-served basis.

The Sheraton Incheon Hotel’s “Romantic Valentine’s Day” package, available through Feb. 14, offers an overnight stay at a deluxe room, chocolate-coated strawberries, a bottle of wine, buffet breakfast, a BVLGARI bath collection set, and free access to the fitness center, swimming pool and sauna.

The W Seoul-Walkerhill offers a unique chance for singles who usually shut themselves up at home on Valentine’s Day. On Saturday Feb. 12 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next day, “W Singles Party ㅡ Part 1” will be held at WooBar.

The Westin Chosun Seoul’s deli Vecchia e Nuovo has prepared a romantic hamper, which includes chocolates, a bottle of wine and flowers, especially for Feb. 14.

Guests choosing the Valentine’s Day set menu will also be given complimentary chocolates and a glass of sparkling wine. From 9 p.m., wines will be offered at a 20-30 percent discount.

The Lotte Hotel Seoul’s French restaurant Pierre Gagnaire a Seoul offers an eight-course dinner on Feb. 14, which includes foie gras, beef and assorted French cheeses, with a surprise gift at 660,000 won for two people.

The Lotte Hotel Jeju’s “I Love You” package, available through Feb. 14, features a one night stay, breakfast buffet, sparkling wine, chocolates and a bubble bath set. The JW Marriott Seoul’s Grill presents a Valentine’s Day dinner on Feb. 14, which includes a proposal event. On a “couple seat” with atmospheric lighting and cityscape views, female guests will receive a bouquet of roses. If a man brings other flowers or presents, they will be presented in a manner he would like for the surprise event.

The Ritz-Carlton Seoul’s European-style restaurant, The Garden, is offering a “Something Secret for My Boyfriend” promotion, in which guests can design their own floral table decoration and message on a cake.
