The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced Tuesday that it had appointed Song Sung-gak, former executive director of advertising company Cheil Worldwide, as new president of its affiliate Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA).
Song had worked at the Cheil Worldwide from 1982 to 2006 and then took charge of leading post at the Donuts Media. From 2008 to before being appointed as the third KOCCA president, he served as CEO of video art production company, Mercury Post.
"On the basis of my deep understanding of content creating, I will put my effort to help Korea's contents creators become major players in the world market by implementing trustworthy supporting policy for them," Song said upon accepting his appointment, Tuesday.
Founded in May 2009, KOCCA has been supporting the country's cultural contents creators in various fields including film, food, comic books, video game, television drama and advertisement.
KOCCA said Song will start his three-year president term as of Tuesday.
