Jeju Island is the most satisfying domestic travel destination among 17 cities and provinces, a survey shows.
The country's southern resort island earned top points in overall satisfaction (4.33 out of 5 points), willingness to revisit (4.31 points) and willingness to recommend it to others (4.33 points) in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's 2014 survey of domestic travel.
Since the satisfaction barometer was added, Jeju has earned highest points for all three items in surveys since 2011.
Jeju also had the highest satisfaction levels for nine out of 12 areas of natural landscape, cultural heritage, restaurants and food, shopping, tourism information and guides, tourism amenities, kindness of people working in the tourism sector, activities and degree of crowdedness.
The results are based on a survey of 6,537 members aged 15 and above of 2,506 households that went on a trip last year.
