FACE of Asia 2020 in Seoul ― Asia's largest model-hunt project ― will soon announce its 30 contestants who made their way through the contest's first round online mission.
The Asia Model Festival Organizing Committee (AMFOC) will make the announcement online on Oct.25.
This year's event ― sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul city and Seoul Tourism Organization ― is being held online via multiple video-sharing platforms including its official YouTube channel and TikTok due to COVID-19 concerns.
More than 70 contenders from 24 Asian countries have registered for competition. They will be submitting their profile videos and clips of their runway shows and completing various missions to get through each step. Videos created by the models can be found at the 'Untact Face of ASIA' YouTube channel.
The first mission for the contestants to clear includes singing K-pop boy band BTS's "With Seoul" ― written to promote Korea's capital city ― in Korean and English, promoting Korean beauty brands through video ads and showcasing art performances.
The contestants will be graded based on aggregated scores from industry experts (50 percent) and voting from AMFOC's mobile app (50 percent).
The winner, who will receive 100 million won ($86,000), will be announced on the day of the final competition which falls on Dec. 4.
