An exhibition featuring Spanish artist Gloria Munoz, "Marvelous" is open only until Saturday, completing six weeks of display at the Trinity Gallery in Seoul.

Munoz has been teaching as a professor in Barcelona, New York, London, and San Francisco, and is well known for her deliberative work.

She puts "meditation" as a keyword for her world of art. During the interview she said: "When I meditate I feel I am part of the universe and feel the wonder of life."

"I try to reach the zenith of contemplation and recognize I am part of the universe. Through working on the artistic piece I emphasize silence, memories, reminiscence and absence, and eventually life and death," she added.

In this exhibition she will present about 15 major art pieces, of which she used altars and paper, including still-life painting.

For the artwork using altars, she tried to express her personal feelings on sacredness and emptiness of time. She also incorporated her thoughts on daily life objects in a Spanish abbey.

Her paper work is depicted with various textures. "The work started from using parchment, which is a symbol of archaeology, to deliver the message that my work has an essence that is eternal," she said.

Munoz tried to fuse the Mediterranean atmosphere into all of her artwork after traveling to Greece, Pompeii, and Morocco and experiencing life there.

This exhibition is sponsored by the Spanish embassy in Korea, partnered with The Korea Times and has no admission fee.
