Hana Bank, the official sponsor of Korean men's national football team, began selling commemorative coins for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Friday.
The lender said the sale will run through Dec. 2 on its mobile app, Hana 1Q.
"The coins will be limited in their numbers and they will have worth for personal collection as well as investment in the future," the company said, Friday. "We also hope the coins can be a source of special memories of Team Korea in this year's World Cup as time passes on."
The coins are available in gold and silver, with each designed to address the significance of the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East.
The gold coins show an Arabic window and the silver coins show tiles symbolizing stadiums where the World Cup matches are being held.
After payment, the coins will be delivered to customers' homes in February.
The lender said it was also running the Hana Bank Korea House in Qatar's capital city of Doha, in cooperation with the Korea Football Association (KFA).
Aimed at offering media services for journalists covering Team Korea, Hana Bank Korea House will operate for as long as the team advances in the World Cup.
The team ended its first match against Uruguay in the group stage, Thursday. It has two more group stage matches to go against Ghana (Nov. 28) and Portugal (Dec. 3), and hopes to advance to the round of 16 afterward.
