Rapper Jessi offers glimpse of new single, 'What Type of X'

Rapper Jessi has given a sneak peek of her new digital single, “What Type of X,” which is set to be released on March 17.

Her agency, P NATION, dropped teasers on its official Twitter, Thursday. In one of the photos, Jessi, sporting black outfits, shows off her alluring looks against a red background.

“What Type of X” is a song about the rapper's confidence and self-respect, according to P NATION. Jessi co-composed the track with Psy, the company's founder and CEO, who is globally famous for his mega-hit, “Gangnam Style” (2012).

“Composer Yoo Gun-hyung, who worked on Jessi's previous release, 'NUNU NANA,' participated in the creative process this time as well,” P NATION said in a statement.

Jessi will premiere “What Type of X” on Naver's live show, “#OUTNOW,” on March 17. She also plans to share some behind-the-scene stories about the upcoming single and interact with her fans.

The New York native debuted in Korea in 2005 with the album, "Get Up." She shot to fame in 2015 after appearing on the first season of Mnet's rap competition program, "Unpretty Rapstar.” She took several music streaming charts by storm last year with her hit, “NUNU NANA.”
