K-pop boy group EXO's Baekhyun is set to drop two new projects, the duet song “Doll” with NCT's Doyoung and his solo album “Bambi.”
“Doll,” the remake version of the popular song released in 2001, hit streaming sites on Friday at 6 p.m. Singers Lee Jee-hoon and Shin Hye-sung sang the original song, written by singer and producer Kangta.
The duet is part of the big-budget K-pop project “Rewind: Blossom,” launched by Stone Music Entertainment, KT and Genie Music. It invites K-pop stars to release covers of hit songs from the 1990s to 2000s.
Along with Baekhyun and Doyoung, artists like Sandeul, Yu Seung-woo and Urban Zakapa's Jo Hyun-ah and Kwon Sun-il have joined hands.
Following the duet project, Baekhyun's third solo mini-album will hit shelves on March 30.
“Bambi,” which will consist of six tracks, will be his first solo album since the success of his second album “Delight” in May 2020.
He made history with “Delight,” becoming the first K-pop soloist to sell 1 million copies in about 20 years since Kim Gun-mo. The album swept local and international music charts, topping iTunes album charts in 69 regions.
Baekhyun debuted in 2012 as the lead vocalist of the nine-member group EXO. The group skyrocketed to stardom shortly after, releasing several hit songs like “Call Me Baby” (2015) and “Love Shot” (2018).
He began his solo act in 2019 with the album “City Lights” and has also taken part in soundtracks of a few TV series, including tvN's “Record of Youth” and SBS' “Hyena.”
