Icelandic pop star Bjork will hold her first concert in Seoul on Feb. 16 next year as part of her world ``Volta'' tour. ``Volta'' is her latest album.
Bjork is known as a all-round entertainer. She has been a singer-songwriter, actress and music producer for more than last 20 years.
She is known for her expressivness, especially her eccentric costumes and her unique style of music ranging from pop, alternative rock, jazz, and electronica, to folk.
She has been nominated for a Grammy Award 12 times, an Academy Award and two Golden Globe awards. On top of winning numerous awards, she won the Best Actress Award for the role of ``Dancer in the Dark'' at the Cannes International Film Festival in 2000.
More than 15 million albums of her record label, ``One Little Indian,'' which was released worldwide in 2003, have been sold.
Her latest album, ``Volta,'' was released worldwide in May. Bjork wrote and produced her sixth full-length album, which consists of 10 new tracks.
Much acclaimed producer Timbaland, Antony Hegarty and Sjon, among other artists worked with the album.
``Earth Intruders,'' the first single from the album, was released in digital format on April 9, and became her second-ever Billboard Hot 100 entry in the United States.
``Volta'' ranked ninth on the Billboard 200 albums chart, becoming her first Top 10 album in the U.S.
The album also reached number three on the French Albums chart, with 20,600 albums sold in its first week, and number seven on the U.K. Albums Chart with 20,456 units sold.
Bjork is now on an 18-month world tour, and has performed in Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
The concert will be held at Olympic Hall of Olympic Park at 7 p.m. on Feb. 16.
