K-pop group Girls' Generation member Yoona will release a special album “A Walk to Remember” on her 30th birthday, Thursday.
A week ago, her agency SM Entertainment announced a plan to release her first solo album since her debut. It will have five songs including two new ones: its title “Summer Night” and “Promise.”
The other three are previously released solo songs ― “Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway” (2016), “When the Wind Blows” (2017) and “To You” (2018).
In an SM statement, she was quoted as saying, “When I first read the lyrics, the group's fan club SONE (pronounced “So-won” or wish in Korean) came to my mind so I had the word 'pink' (her fan club's official color) added to the lyrics.” Yoona said “Promise” was dedicated to her fans.
The album will be released through music streaming sites at 6 p.m. on May 30.
Yoona debuted in 2007 with Girls' Generation. She also acts as well, starring in movie “Confidential Assignment” about a South and North Korean cop story and dramas.
