Entertainers convicted and sentenced to prison terms for crimes involving gambling, drug use, drunk driving and sex offenses may be banned from TV if a proposed new broadcasting law is adopted.

Lawmakers from the ruling Democratic Party of Korea submitted the proposal.

Several celebrities could be affected, including Shoo from S.E.S, Tony An from H.O.T and comedians Lee Soo-geun, Boom and Tak Jae-hoon, who were caught illegally gambling.

T.O.P from Big Bang and actor Ju Ji-hoon, who were convicted of drug crimes, and actor Lee Geung-young, who was arrested over a sex crime involving a minor, also may be affected.
