The month of June is set to see several new series from a range of genres including action and suspense thrillers as well as romantic comedies.
Netflix is rolling out a new hardcore action series, "Bloodhounds," on June 9 as its latest Korean original series offering.
Based on the webcomics of the same name, the 8-part series revolves around two promising, young boxers, Kim Geon-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Hong Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi). Kim gets involved in the loan shark business when his mother owes a huge debt to ruthless loan shark Kim Myeong-gil (Park Sung-woong).
With the help of Hong, he forms a bond with a benevolent moneylender to take down the loan shark who preys on the financially desperate.
This will be the series directorial debut for filmmaker Kim Joo-hwan, who is known for helming the 2017 comedy action movie "Midnight Runners."
Actress Kim Tae-hee is making a small screen comeback with ENA suspense thriller series "Lies Hidden in My Garden" about three years after leading the drama series "Hi Bye, Mama!" in 2020.
The new series, based on the novel of the same name, follows the story of a wealthy housewife, Moon Joo-ran (Kim), who is living a happy life with her husband who is a doctor. When she starts looking into the strange smell emanating from the backyard of her house, she comes across an underprivileged woman, Chu Sang-eun (Lim Ji-yeon). When the two women from completely different backgrounds cross paths, their lives turn upside down.
The 8-part series, which will air on June 19, is led by Jung Ji-hyun who previously directed the hit romance series "Twenty-Five Twenty-One" (2022).

Two romantic comedy series, "King the Land" and "See You in My 19th Life," are also coming up, both scheduled to premiere on June 17.
JTBC's new series, "King the Land" will follow a romance between a rich heir of a conglomerate group, Gu Won (Lee Joon-ho), and an aspiring hotelier, Cheon Sa-Rang (Lim Yoon-a). Cheon lands a job at one of the group's hotel chains and meets a smart but cool-headed heir as her boss. When bright-spirited Cheon comes into Gu's life, he starts to see changes.
The series is helmed by director Im Hyun-wook, who led the melodrama series "Reflection of You" (2021) and the period rom-com series "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency" (2019).
TvN's new fantasy rom-com series "See You in My 19th Life" will revolve around a woman, Ban Ji-eum (Shin Hye-sun), who has a special ability to remember all of her past lives. Her 18th life got interrupted by a car accident on the way to an amusement park with a 12-year-old friend Moon Seo-ha (Ahn Bo-hyun).
In her new life, she traces her steps back so as to cross paths with Moon, who shut down relationships after the accident. As a completely different person, she tries to win back love from Moon, who still misses his first love, her past self.
The series is based on the popular webcomics of the same name and is led by director Lee Na-jeong, whose previous work includes the thriller drama "Mine" (2021) and the romance series "Love Alarm" (2019).
