August will see a string of top actors, like Zo In-sung and Ko Hyun-jung, return to the small screen.
Zo is leading Disney+'s Korean original series “Moving,” taking on his first series in six years since the heartfelt drama “Dear My Friends” (2016).
The new sci-fi action series, set to hit the platform on Aug. 9, is an adaptation of the popular webcomics of the same name by creator Kang Full, starring a star-studded cast including Zo, Han Hyo-joo, Ryu Seung-ryong, and Ryu Seung-bum.
The 20-part series follows a group of teenagers with supernatural powers and their parents, who have been keeping a painful secret, fighting against dark forces and a mysterious assassin.
The series is scripted by its original creator, Kang, and is helmed by director Park In-je, who led the second season of Netflix's hit series "Kingdom."
Netflix is rolling out a new original series “Mask Girl,” led by actress Ko and singer-actor Nana, on Aug. 18.
The new thriller series revolves around an ordinary office worker, Kim Mo-mi, who wanted to become a celebrity but did not have the looks to match and has grown insecure about her appearance as a result.
Every night, she puts on a mask as an internet personality until a chain of ill-fated events overtakes her life. Three actors, including Ko, Nana and another, will play the role of Kim.
The series is scripted and led by filmmaker Kim Yong-hoon, whose previous work is the 2020 crime thriller film “Beasts Clawing at Straws.”

Actors Park Hae-jin and Lim Ji-yeon will be leading SBS' upcoming crime suspense series “The Killing Vote,” scheduled to release on Aug. 10.
Based on the webcomic of the same name, the series is about a mysterious figure, wearing a dog mask, pursuing a vigilante death penalty against heinous criminals who dodged legal punishment. The vigilante uses text message polling to let the public decide the fate of criminals.
Park will play a power-hunger policeman who leads the investigation team at the police agency. And Lim will play the police officer at the Cyber Security Bureau. The two hunt down the vigilante despite his own act of justice.
JTBC will debut two romantic comedy series in the coming month, “Behind Your Touch,” and “Destined With You.”
The new rom-com detective series, “Behind Your Touch,” which will go on air on Aug. 12, revolves around the town's busybody, veterinarian Bong Ye-boon (Han Ji-min), living in a peaceful countryside area. She has a special ability to see the past of animals and people when touching their buttocks.
An ambitious detective from Seoul, Moon Jang-yeol (Lee), lends Bong's ability to solve a series of petty crimes. But they soon find themselves facing a serial murder case.
Actress Han is reuniting with director Kim Suk-yoon and scriptwriter Lee Nam-kyu after four years since working together on the 2019 series "The Light in Your Eyes."
“Destined With You” follows a fantasy romance story between a civil servant, Lee Hong-jo (Jo Bo-ah), and a lawyer Jang Shin-yoo (Rowoon).
Jang, who is a star lawyer, is under a curse that has plagued his family for generations, making him sick. When he sets out to look for the owner of an ancient book to break the cures, he comes across the low-ranking civil servant, Lee, who became the owner of the book and holds the key to lifting his curse.
The series is helmed by director Nam Ki-hoon, known for his previous work on the Disney+ romance series "Kiss Sixth Sense" and tvN thriller series "Voice 3." The script is penned by No Ji-seol, the scriptwriter for tvN period romance series "100 Days My Prince."
