Singer and producer Tank, who claims to have worked for famous rap artist and producer Gil for years, accused the rapper of exploiting him and assaulting his staff in the past. He also claimed that Gil used abusive language against his girlfriend and colleagues. The rapper has denied the allegations and pledged to take legal action against Tank.
Tank, who also made songs for renowned K-pop musicians such as Lee Hi, Verbal Jint, Baek Ji-young and Ong Seong-wu, said in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel Thursday, "What I'm going to tell you now is all true, and I also have voice recordings as evidence stored in my phone. He assaulted his manager many times and had four girlfriends at the same time while enjoying one night stands at nightclubs. I and other people worked for him without a contract for a year, but he didn't pay us any money."
He added that Gil "made accusations against me since I left him, and when another composer threatened to sue him for plagiarism, he pressured me to take the blame." Tank said he even saw the rapper swearing at his girlfriend, Oh In-hye, who recently passed away, while saying that Gil also made insulting comments about IU behind her back after receiving a video from her singing his song. Tank's video was deleted on Friday.
Gil, however, denied the allegations and said he will take legal action.
The rapper's agency said in a statement Friday, "What Tank said in his YouTube video on Thursday is not true and we are preparing to release a detailed statement and take legal action against him."
