A-list stars ― Ha Jung-woo, Joo Ji-hoon, Choi Min-ho, and Yeo Jin-goo ― have left behind their celebrity lives for a rough backpacking road trip around New Zealand with Tving's new original reality show "Bros on Foot."

The new travel show, set to be released on Friday, follows the four actors traveling around parts of New Zealand on foot. On their trip, the four come together to complete a series of missions to win chances for young adults to go on their dream trips.

"When I first got the proposal (for the show), I vaguely thought it would be fun and I wanted to travel somewhere at the time," Ha explained his reason for joining the show, during an online press conference for the show, Thursday. "And in the proposal, it had Joo's name as a possible cast member, and I felt we could have something fun from spending time together. It was that simple."

The show is created by Lee Se-young, who previously led SBS' variety show "All the Butlers." The producer said the show's purpose is to offer trips to young adults who have been struggling throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I love traveling and if I were to choose my favorite memory of traveling, it would be the backpacking trip I went on during college. Coming across new surroundings and people, I could experience various emotions and really felt liberated," she said.

"But unfortunately, young people nowadays haven't had such a chance for the past couple of years due to COVID-19. So I started this show thinking it would be nice to offer them a trip as a gift."

Choi and Yeo expressed satisfaction in joining the show and traveling with the co-cast members.

"This is the first time for Ha and Joo to star in a reality show … So, I was worried we might not get comfortable enough on the show (during the trip). But that turned out to be unnecessary worry," Choi said. "It was like they've frequently done reality shows. There wasn't a moment that wasn't enjoyable."

Yeo added: "I was very excited to have a chance to work beside Ha, who has been my role model for a long time. I was able to see a lot of new sides of him through the show."

"Bros on Foot" will premiere its first two episodes on Jan. 20 and will release one episode every Friday thereafter.
