Enjoy a melodic night with some of the best artists in Seoul and from around the world at the Seoul Soul Festival 2010 next month.
The two-day event will take place at the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan, fusing hip hop, soul and R&B all into one exciting festival, perfect for a breezy night out with friends and family.
The organizers have been promoting the event for months, revealing one featured artist after another to build anticipation and the full lineup has finally been unveiled.
Fans are quite excited as news that Se7en and Jay Park were going to stand on the event’s stage was announced, since it’s not easy to watch them perform together, while the appearance of Big Bang member Tae-yang will draw an eclectic audience to match the scheduled performances.
The three singers may have their own distinctive styles in terms of fashion, music and dance moves, but they equally create a similar hype when it comes to popularity and fan base. Se7en, who has returned to the pop scene after a three year absence with his new album ``Digital Bounce’’ and the hit song ``Better Together’’ last July, proved once more that he was on top of his game with sleek moves and stable and stylish vocals. Tae-yang also proved his influence on the K-pop scene to both fans and the music industry with his solo album ``Solar.’’ The album hit third place on iTunes’ Top R&B-Soul albums chart in the United States last July, the first ever Asian musician to do so. With his witty lyrics and melodies, plus fluid moves, he has won the hearts of international fans and received critical acclaim for his album.
Park may have made headlines more often than his two counterparts after the former leader of 2PM was kicked out of the boy band, but nonetheless, he is expected to add fiery intensity to the already heated stage.
Along with local singers, world-renowned artists will also participate in the special festival.
Musiq Soulchild will perform in Korea for the first time. The 33-year-old soul artist made his debut in 2000 and garnered fans with hit songs such as ``Just Friends,’’ ``Love’’ and ``Ifuleave.’’ The artist recently showed his enthusiasm for the event by posting a message on his Twitter account that he was performing in Seoul, plus details on where and how to buy tickets.
Sean Kingston, the 20-year-old rapper who impressed the world with his number ``Beautiful Girls’’ is returning to Korea once more. The reggae singer from Kingston, Jamaica, performed in Korea with R&B star Ne-Yo in 2008 and is expected to present groovy tunes for the local audience to enjoy.
A special pre-party and performance called ``Fun Fun Star Night’’ will take place at the same venue, inviting singers including DJ D.O.C., hip hop duo Supreme Team, newcomer mAd sOul cHild and pop duo UV.
