The seven funny men from the hit television show “Infinity Challenge” are inviting viewers to brave the chilly temperatures to enjoy a free photo exhibition.
The team comprised of Yu Jae-seok, Park Myung-su, Gil, Haha, Jung Jun-ha, Jeong Hyeong-don and No Hong-chul successfully held their initial photo exhibition last year in appreciation of their fans’ devotion and the seven hosts are offering another one.
A year ago, the event was a huge hit, attracting some 30,000 viewers, and the team has decided to take the exhibition to places outside of Seoul: Jecheon, Yeosu and Incheon.
Some 250 photos taken by professional photographers during the show and also behind the scenes will travel from city to city, presenting a retrospect of the past episodes that made so many headlines during their airing.
This year promises to be a bit more special as MBC has prepared special gifts and related products for zealous fans. At the Namsan Animation center, visitors will get to see caricatures drawn by professionals based on the show, and limited edition action figures, USBs, tumblers, postcards, photo books, applications and even DVDs of the episodes will be available for purchase.
The program “Infinity Challenge” first started in 2005. After overcoming a rocky start introducing a unique format where six to seven hosts competed to complete tasks, either in teams or sometimes individually, eventually it became one of the most popular shows. As a result the hosts have also become superstars. The program combines elements of talk shows and comedy programs, adding a bit more entertainment and later touching stories and inspiring messages as well. There were episodes where the cast went to help a fellow crew member who lost his father from a terminal illness, while in another one they wandered the streets of New York and offered Korean food to random Americans.
Athletics was also a popular theme and by featuring episodes where the members would enter competitions, the public got to learn more about sports such as competitive dance, figure skating, wrestling and bobsleighing. The show continues to air every Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
The “Infinity Challenge” photo exhibition will start Saturday at the MBC Ilsan Dream Center (through 26), Apgujeong Canon Plex and the Namsan SBA Animation Center (Jan. 22 through Feb. 20, 2011), Jecheon Civic Center (March 19 through April 3, 2011) and finally Yeosu and Ulsan through May next year.
