IU and BTS' Jung Kook found themselves on the 200 greatest singers of all time chosen by
, a U.S. magazine featuring articles on music, politics and popular culture.
Among the 200 singers, IU was ranked 135th and Jung Kook 191st. The magazine said it took into account originality, influence, the depth of the artists' catalog and the breadth of their musical legacy for the selection.
IU “has become one of the most highly regarded vocalists in South Korean music,” said Rolling Stone.
“Despite having a soft voice, she has a wide range, a powerful delivery, and a versatility that's allowed her to move easily from bossa nova to nineties chamber pop and from jazz to ballads,” said the magazine.
About Jung Kook, it said he “boasts a long list of talents ― he is a strong performer, (has) written several songs, and is known to be extremely hardworking and humble despite the success he's experienced at such an early age.”
