Netflix's new Korean remake, “Someday or One Day,” is based on a Taiwanese smash-hit romance series.

The streaming platform confirmed the production of the adaptation of the wildly popular, “A Time Called You,” Thursday, announcing that actors Ahn Hyo-seob, Jeon Yeo-been and Kang Hoon will be taking the lead roles.

Based on the 2019 Taiwanese series that scored a billion views on Netflix, “A Time Called You,” revolves around a woman named Joon-hee (Jeon) who loses her long-time boyfriend to an accident. While spending her days depressed since his death, she slips through time and finds herself to be a high school girl named Min-joo from 1998. In that era, she meets a boy who looks just like her dead boyfriend.

Ahn will play two roles, one as Joon-hee's boyfriend, Yeon-joon, and another as a boy from 1998, Si-hun, who is a popular guy at school.

Kang, who recently had his breakthrough role in the hit historical romance series, “The Red Sleeve,” will play the character of In-gyu, who is Si-hun's friend and secretly has a crush on Min-joo. When he finds out that Min-joo has feelings for Si-hun, he becomes caught in a conflict between love and friendship.

The series will be led by director Kim Jin-won, whose previous work includes the 2012 melodrama series, “The Innocent Man,” and will be scripted by newcomer Choi Hyo-bi.

Ahn debuted with a minor role in a short series called “Splash Splash Love” in 2015, and has taken leading roles in various TV series, including the 2020 medical series, “Dr. Romantic 2.” He is currently starring in the romantic comedy series, “Business Proposal.”

Jeon debuted in 2015 in the historical flick, “The Treacherous,” and rose to global stardom after playing the lead character in the hit series, “Vincenzo” last year.
