K-pop star IU has donated 100 million won to underprivileged children who are being raised by grandparents, according to the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, Dec. 23.
The singer has made several donations through the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation since 2015. She donated 100 million won to victims of the Gangwon wildfires in April and the same amount under the name of her fan club "UAENA" to celebrate her 11th debut anniversary in September.
After playing a granddaughter caring for her deaf grandmother in the 2018 tvN drama "My Mister," she donated 50 million won to the Deaf Senior Citizens Support Center last March.
On Dec. 2, she was the youngest person listed on Forbes' "Asia's Heroes of Philanthropy: Catalyst for Change."
She is on her tour concert "Love Poem," which began in Kwangju on Nov. 2, visiting Busan, Taipei, Singapore, Philippines and Kuala Lumpur. She will be in Bangkok on Dec. 24 and Jakarta on Dec. 28.
