K-POP SUPERFEST to take place on June 19

The Joy Ruckus Club, the largest Asian American virtual music festival in the world, is set to stage the K-POP SUPERFEST online on June 19.

Singers Rain, Jessi, Ailee, Heize, AleXa, Bloo and K-pop groups The Boyz, Cravity, Lovelyz, Momoland, Golden Child and AB6IX will perform for the event, which will be hosted by AleXa and Kevin from The Boyz. DJ Soda will also appear.

There will be an online shop selling merchandise such as T-shirts and autographed posters. The tickets for the online "meet-and-greet" session, in which fans can interact with their favorite singers, will be on sale, too.

The festival's organizer and the founder of the Joy Ruckus Club, Kublai Kwon said, "Through the event, we want to disseminate K-pop culture, as well as the musical legacy of the late singer, Shin Hae-chul (1968-2014), by putting the spotlight on today's K-pop superstars."

Kwon is the cousin of Shin, the iconic musician of the 1990s who is best known for his hits, "To You" (1991) and "What Do You Really Want" (1999).

K-POP SUPERFEST will be livestreamed from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. (PST) on the streaming platform, Sessions Live.

"The K-POP SUPERFEST represents another milestone, as we bring even larger events to fans across 194 countries and 18 languages," Tim Westergren, the co-founder of the platform, said. "Sessions' unique combination of gamification and marketing is driving attendance and revenue for artists at an unprecedented level."

Launched in 2020, the Joy Ruckus Club has been presenting humanitarian-oriented virtual concerts featuring the artists of Asian descent. In February, it held the "Joy Ruckus Club 3" festival, inviting several high-profile singers, including K-pop diva Hyolyn, a former member of now-defunct girl group Sistar.
