Writer and comedian Yoo Byung-jae will leave YG Entertainment, which is besieged by the sex scandal involving the agency's former leading artist Seungri, a member of BIG BANG.

YG told local entertainment news outlet Star News on Tuesday that they had come to an agreement to part ways in early June after discussing the issue before his contract expired.

YG Entertainment said: "We thank Yoo's fans for giving him so much love and support and YG will wish good luck for his future endeavors."

Yoo debuted as a writer on tvN's "Saturday Night Live Korea" in 2012. He appeared on "SNL" the following year, where he established himself as a comedian. He rose to popularity when he and his manager joined the MBC variety show "Omniscient Interfering View" in 2018.
