JYP Entertainment's all-Japanese girl group, NiziU, on Monday joined "DearU bubble" ― a chat service for K-pop stars and their fans ― to interact closely with its fans.

Through "Bubble," fans can pick their favorite K-pop singers and exchange messages with them in chat rooms. If they choose to talk with only one star, the monthly subscription fee is 4,500 won ($4). But the price goes up if they select two or more singers.

"NiziU members will share their daily lives and communicate closely with their fans around the world via Bubble," JYP said in a statement Tuesday.

NiziU consists of the nine winners of the "Nizi (Rainbow) Project," an audition show launched by JYP and Sony Music. On the program, which aired in Japan last year, Mako, Riku, Rima, Rio, Maya, Miihi, Mayuka, Ayaka and Nina were selected. The group has created a splash on the global music scene since its official debut last December, with the music video of its debut single, "Step and a Step," garnering 100 million views on YouTube as of Tuesday.

Launched in 2020, "Bubble" is available on the fan community app, Lysn, which was created by SM Entertainment's IT subsidiary, DearU. Initially, the service was mostly used by SM stars ― such as EXO and NCT ― but its rising popularity has led singers from other labels to join. As of now, some 150 artists, including F.T. Island (FNC Entertainment) and VERIVERY (Jellyfish Entertainment), are available on the platform.

Most of JYP's singers, including 2PM, DAY6, TWICE, Stray Kids and ITZY, have been using the service since last year.

JYP recently acquired a 23.3-percent share of DearU for about 21.4 billion won ($19.2 million). In a statement released on June 4, the company said it aims to expand its platform business through the acquisition.
