K-pop group Epik High is set to release the album “Epik High Is Here 上,” the first of its two-part project on Monday.
Its 10th studio album, “Epik High Is Here” is the hip-hop trio's first release in almost two years since its previous album "sleepless in ________" in March 2019.
“The title (of the album) implies Epik High's perseverance, withstanding the ups and downs, through 17 years of its career,” the group's agency Hours Entertainment said Monday. “And at the same time, the group intends to offer consolation to those feeling 'no one in this world will understand me' with this album.”
“Epik High Is Here 上” consists of 10 tracks, including two lead singles “ROSARIO” and “Based On A True Story.”
“ROSARIO,” featuring female K-pop star CL and rapper Zico, is a hip-hop song with a strong beat, narrating criticism toward people who hope for others' misery and failure.
The other lead song “Based On A True Story,” a deviation from the group's usual hip-hop style, features Heize.
The album will hit streaming sites at 6 p.m.
The group ― comprised of Tablo, Mithra Jin, and Tukutz ― debuted in 2003 with the album "Map Of The Human Soul." It has released various hits, including "Love Love Love" (2007) and "Spoiler" (2014).
