Unlike last fall, when movie fans had fewer options to satisfy their cinematic cravings, 2021 is packed with huge Hollywood titles. Marvel's "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" kicked off the fall movie season, dominating the local box office with the cumulative number of tickets sold at over 1 million.
From the new James Bond flick "No Time to Die" to another "Venom" installment and the long-awaited Denis Villeneuve sci-fi epic, "Dune," there is plenty for cinephiles to enjoy after Korea's Chuseok holidays this month until Christmas.
"007 No Time to Die," which marks Daniel Craig's last performance as the iconic MI6 secret agent, will open in Korea on Sept. 29, one day before its release in the U.K. The U.S. will have its premiere on Oct. 8.
The film revolves around British secret agent James Bond (Craig), who comes out of retirement and teams up with the new 007 (Lashana Lynch) as well as CIA agent (Ana de Armas) to take down a vengeful terrorist (Rami Malek).
Tom Hardy is back as journalist Eddie Brock in "Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage" (Oct. 13) who is still figuring out life with the alien Venom symbiote existing inside him. He has to deal with a new enemy, convicted serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), who has transformed into the vicious Carnage.

"Dune," the latest film adaption of Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi-novel of the same title, will also hit theaters in October.
It stars Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides who travels to an extremely dangerous planet called Arrakis, full of giant sandworms and "spice," a precious resource that endows people with extraordinary abilities. The all-star cast includes Javier Bardem, Zendaya, Jason Momoa and Oscar Isaac.
Director Villeneuve shared that he has been dreaming his Dune movie since he was a teenager when he first came across the book. "It's a book that I've been haunted by for almost 40 years," he said.
Also drawing attention is "Eternals," set for November release.
Helmed by two-time Academy Award-winning "Nomadland" director Chloe Zhao, the film follows a group of godly individuals called the Eternals, who left Earth for over 7,000 years ago, but return to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants.
The ensemble cast includes Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Barry Keoghan as Druig, and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.
"Spider-Man: No Way Home" is expected to release in cinemas in December. The movie shows Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) mission to defeat an old enemy in another world as Doctor Strange mistakenly breaks open the multiverse.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated "Top Gun: Maverick," starring Tom Cruise, will not be released in November. It will open in theaters in May 2022.
