October will be a thrilling month for K-pop fans around the world. Not only the big-name stars ― such as BLACKPINK, TWICE and NCT ― but also rookie bands are gearing up for their releases next month.

The first act in the lineup is BLACKPINK, which will unleash its first studio album "THE ALBUM" on Oct. 2. Its record label YG Entertainment hinted Monday that the album's lead track "Lovesick Girls" would be about love scars.

On Oct. 7, boy band Golden Child's retro-tinged single "Pump It Up" will be out. On the same day, girl group WJSN's sub-unit Chocome (meaning "shorty" in Korean) is set to drop another retro-flavored release "Hmph!"

The next day, Kyuhyun of Super Junior will release a single, with actor Yoo Yeon-seok featuring on a music video. Girl band Weki Meki is making its comeback on the same day, unleashing its fourth mini-album "NEW RULES." Its management company Fantasio revealed that the album would highlight the members' free-spiritedness and confidence.

SM Entertainment's NCT, which now has 23 members, is preparing to release "NCT ― The 2nd Album RESONANCE Pt.1" on Oct. 12. The 13-track album will be fronted by two lead singles "Make a Wish (Birthday Song)" and "From Home." SM said the album would display the band's unique sonic style.

TWICE and Tomorrow X Together (TXT)'s albums will hit shelves on Oct. 26. The girl group recently filmed a music video, according to reports. TXT's "minisode1: Blue Hour" will be about the members "small story," agency Big Hit Entertainment said. The company added that the five-piece act would exhibit a "refreshing vibe."

More K-pop stars including SEVENTEEN, CL and WINNER's Mino hinted at their October return, but did not reveal the exact dates. Rookie bands such as Woollim's DRIPPIN and FNC's P1Harmony will make their debut next month, but details are still under wraps.
