Brand New Music, the artist's agency, announced Friday that Lee would release his first solo song on August 31.

The artist unveiled teaser images to give a glimpse of his latest offering. The images show a yellow flower on beige or black background, with phrases like "You're still as beautiful as ever," and "I just wanna sing."

The agency said the single would follow Lee's narrative on his personal growth from a "painful scar and wound."

Lee garnered fame after competing in the latest season of Mnet's popular K-pop survival show, "ProduceX101." He made it to the top 11 finalists and then made his debut as a member of the project group in August 2019.

But, the group disbanded in January after vote-rigging allegations were raised against the show.

Since then, Lee has gone his own way, starring in girl duo As One's music video and releasing his own photograph book.
