Song Seung-hyun, formerly of K-pop boy band F.T. Island, will join the army on Monday and serve active duty.
Song, 27, will undergo basic military training before being assigned to a unit.
He posted an Instagram photo of himself with a short military haircut on Saturday, saying, "I will be back healthy. Thank you."
The time and place of his enlistment will not be publicly disclosed, as the singer wishes.
"Please give love and support to Song, who will return (to civilian life) after serving his duty faithfully," his agency Wooridle Company said in early April.
Song debuted as a member of F.T. Island in 2009. He left the band last December and revealed he would begin forging an acting career.
