"Crash Landing on You," tvN's upcoming romance drama starring A-list actors Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, has offered a sneak peek of the main characters.

Photos of Hyun Bin in a uniform were unveiled Monday. In the 16-episode soap opera, he plays high-ranking North Korean officer Ri Jong-hyok.

Pictures of Son, sporting a classy flower-patterned dress, were disclosed a day earlier. She plays chaebol scion Yoon Se-ri, who accidentally lands in North Korea after a paraglide carrying her makes an emergency landing. She later encounters Ri, who protects her, and eventually falls in love.

"'Crash Landing on You' is a lovely and witty drama, Ri Jong-hyok is a perfect and reliable character," Son said during an interview with tvN, Friday.

Hyun Bin said, "Yoon Se-ri is a charming and outspoken woman."

Park Ji-eun, writer of the pan-Asian hit drama "My Love From the Star" (2013-14) starring Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun, has written the new series.

"Crash Landing on You" will premiere on Dec 14.
