Girl band BLACKPINK is the first K-pop group to have its music video (MV) exceed 900 million views on YouTube, according to its agency YG Entertainment, Wednesday.
The MV of the four-piece group's smash-hit song “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” reached the milestone on Tuesday, about 400 days after its release in June 2018.
“It is the record that no other K-pop bands have ever set,” YG said.
Last December, the clip was also crowned the most-watched K-pop music video of 2018 on YouTube, according to the platform.
The band also boasts 16 YouTube clips ― including dance practice and music videos ― that have surpassed 100 million views.
BLACKPINK ― comprised of Jenni, Lisa, Rose and Jisoo ― debuted in 2016 and was propelled to stardom with a string of big hits including “Whistle” (2016). It recently wrapped up a world tour.
