Former TV personality Amy is expected to open the gate to another celebrity-involved drug scandal after she revealed there was a male celebrity who took drugs with her. Amy was deported to the U.S. over repeated drug offenses.
She has been away from the public eye since but took to Instagram on Tuesday to break a surprising story about the celebrity, whom she identified as "A." She said he used to be a very close friend and they always took drugs together.
"When the police started zeroing in on me, he would beg me not to say a word about him during the police investigation, saying that it would put an end to his career," Amy wrote. "I remember him calling me every day while he was on military duty, giving me endless excuses and persuading me into taking the fall for him."
She also alleged that A and his friends conspired to take photos and film her while raping her for blackmail, saying she heard this story from another friend. "The friend told me that A was the one who first suggested the idea, which really broke my heart," she said.
Amy said he tried to keep his distance from her when he was discharged from the military. She also expressed resentment against the unknown celebrity, saying she could not stand the fact he is smiling on television while she is still paying for her crime.
She later deleted the post as her bombshell revelation sparked controversy online.
Amy was arrested in 2012 for using Propofol and was sentenced to eight months' jail, with two years' probation. In 2014, she was caught for excessive use of Zolpidem, a hypnotic drug mostly used to treat insomnia. She is currently staying in the U.S. As she was holding American citizenship, she was deported to Guam in Dec 2015 for the offenses.
Her Instagram post immediately went viral and some netizens singled out R&B singer Wheesung, suggesting he used to be good friends with Amy and was serving in the military when Amy was facing the drug investigation.
Wheesung was also suspected of injecting Propofol from 2011 to 2013, but was cleared after the court accepted the injections were administered with a doctor's prescription for a herniated disk and hair loss.
The singer's agency said it is verifying the facts with Wheesung, but rejected the suspicions, saying he had been cleared of all drug charges and maintained a good friendship with Amy after the incident.
