For his leading role in the thriller, "My Secret Terrius," actor So Ji-sub clinched his first grand prize at the 2018 MBC Drama Awards on Sunday. It has taken 23 years for the seasoned actor to receive the most prestigious award, since his debut in 1995.

The veteran actor had to make two thank-you speeches in a matter of minutes because he won the excellence award just before it was announced he had won the grand prize winner. For the second speech, he said he was blank with no words to add.
"I had been happy while filming for the drama," he said. "I would like to pay my respects to all fellow actors and appreciate the efforts of the crew and fans."
He also thanked newcomer actress Jung In-sun, his partner in the TV series.
"It must have been demanding to take the role as a mother of twins ― thank you for your excellence," he said.
In the drama, So played Kim Bon, a babysitting undercover agent who falls in love with Go Ae-rin, (played by Jung) a mother of twins. The last installment, shown Nov. 15, hit the highest rating of all the episodes, and was named drama of the year.
Since his debut, So has starred in numerous television dramas including the TV series "Something Happened in Bali" and "I'm Sorry, I Love You." Despite being recognized as one of the Korea's most prominent actors, he had not won the grand prize until this year.
