Miss Korea-turned-actress Sung Hyun-ah will return to the big screen with “Transfer Student.”

Shooting reportedly started early this week at a studio in Seoul. Sung plays a mother named “Jung-ah” who tries to find her missing daughter, according to Star Hankook, The Korea Times' sister paper specializing in entertainment news.

Her co-stars include Ahn Yong-joon and Kim Si-won. The director is Shin Jae-ho.

“It (the movie) is about school violence and other chronic social problems,” the newspaper quoted a shooting crew member as saying. It is not yet decided when the film will be released.

Sung, one of the 1994 Miss Korea winners, was charged with prostitution in 2010. She was cleared of the charge in June 2016.

She starred in a KBS TV drama early this year, ending her self-imposed exile prompted by the scandal.
